A native of Prague, Czech Republic, Bohuslav Rattay was selected to become the 6th conductor of the Lake Charles Symphony.  Originally trained as a bassoonist, Mr. Rattay is a graduate of the Peabody Institute of Music, Rice University, and the Prague Conservatory.  He served as Assistant Conductor for the Peabody Symphony Orchestra and the Peabody Opera Department.  He was selected to conduct the National Symphony Orchestra and was chosen to participate in the Conducting Fellowship Program of the American Symphony Orchestra League.  He has appeared with some of the finest orchestras in Europe.  Since 2006, Mr. Rattay has been music director of the Muncie Symphony Orchestra in Indiana.
