"Summer Pops - 2012"

I Hear a Symphony will be performing "Motown's Greatest Hits"

On July 14, 2012 the Symphony will open its 55th season with Summer Pops 2012 featuring “I Hear a Symphony” at the Lake Charles Civic Center. Our audience will want this show to go on “All Night Long” as we celebrate the billboard hits of Motown. This show will feature hits such as “I Heard it Through the Grapevine, ”ABC,” “Signed, Sealed, Delivered”, ”My Girl”, “Stop in the Name of Love”, “RESPECT”, and many more! I Hear a Symphony will appeal to a larger genre than ever before. We hope this music will have everyone grooving in the aisles. Each year, we try to make this a bigger and better event. By making this more family friendly, parents and children will be able to enjoy the show together. The Lake Charles Symphony wants to make all of our events more family friendly. If we do not involve the younger generations, we will have no one to follow us into the future. Our summer pops also shows people that this isn’t your grandmother’s symphony anymore. We have new talent, a young conductor, and want to put a modern take on Symphonic music as a whole.
